Administration of justice for the family in bogotá from words to action

Abstract

This article highlights some aspects regarding the way administration of justice is given by the Law of Family in Colombia, particularly in Bogotá City. It is grounded on the observation that took place in the provision of different entities administration of justice that take care of family legal issues, legal practice and a citizen oversight conducted in different family commissaries and family Courts in Bogotá. This research was conducted by USAID (United States Agency for International development) in association with Universidad de los Andes Bogotá. The results of this research allowed us to show what really happens in the provision of Family Justice Law practice. It also seeks to motivate a reflexion about the quality of the services provided compared to what it has been determined by the General Law and the Public Service Ordainment. In the same way, from the perceptions of those who come to institutions, it is questioned whether the constitutional and legal principles are fulfilled at the interior of some of these organisms which ought to guarantee and restore the Rights of the people who require it; or on the contrary, they contribute to their infringement. It is concluded, that users are not satisfied with the treatment received and that in the Family Justice reform, the problems for to be taken into account are varied as well as those of the design of public policies to improve the quality of service.
