Abstract
The Patriotic Union as a political movement traced an unprecedented event in Colombian recent history because it represents the beginning of opposition Parties participation in political life and one of the first attempts by the national government to end the armed conflict that has afflicted the country for so many decades. Despite the remarkable reception it had in Colombian civil population, this party also represented an imminent threat to some sectors of the society, triggering a series of events aimed to the deterioration and destruction of this political force, generating all kinds of infringements to Human Rights leaving incalculable number of victims, up to date only prosecuted by impunity. Against this situation it is necessary to explain how the Right to truth justice and reparation for the genocide victims of the Patriotic Union in Colombia is affected, as a consequence of the responsibility of the State organisms in the country and the international uncertainty in the search for their protection. At this point it is necessary to identify first the minimum standards for the rights protection, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of this protection. At this point the role of Colombian government in the investigation is very important since the protection of the Rights depend on this though it must assume within the governmental organization, the mechanisms and necessary structure to avoid their infringement providing effective protection in case they are endangered. To explain these situations it is necessary the provision of legal management both international and national and the mechanisms to make them effective.Downloads
