Abstract

This research was intended to call the attention towards the serious situation of prison overcrowded in Sevilla Valle imprisonment Institution which shows an increase in population from 90 to 130 inmates to fulfill the guidelines of the Planning Office INPEC, even though there were no space accommodation changes in its facilities. One hundred and ninety inmates are currently housed in the rush to reduce the media impact generated by overcrowded prisons in the capital cities of the region. In the same way, this research looks forward to demonstrate the consequent Psico- social damage produced by overcrowding in the minds of those who are locked up with none of real mobility and the logic affectation of social interaction processes though the given conditions generate aggressive attitudes as a consequence of high standards of stress suffered by the inmates.
