The social and educational role of literary criticism

This essay is a reflection on the role of criticism in the field of literary studies and the mission of the teacher as a guide in the reading of classical texts. It is proposed that criticism plays a role of orientation and persuasion in reading, and from it, the benefit for the interpretation and appreciation of the literary work.
