Abstract
Mathematics contributes to the integral development of students for their integration into society; In the department of Quindío in recent years, it is evident in the results of the Saber Tests of 3rd and 5th grade that students present various difficulties in mathematics, one of the causes is the difficulty that causes them to face the resolution of problems. This is due to the fact that many teachers sometimes give little importance to certain processes, as is the case with the visualization processes, as Zimmermann and Cunningham (2013, cited by Martinovic, Freiman and Karadag p. 213) visualize in the learning processes of mathematics contributes to the development of a deeper and more meaningful understanding of both mathematical ideas and the relationships between mathematical concepts, or they are unaware of the potential that learning environments possess and the integration of ICTs, which make the physical classroom transcend, enriching it with new pedagogical alternatives and giving students meaningful experiences and better learning opportunities. Therefore, the research was carried out under a qualitative methodology of interpretative type (Sampiere, Fernandez and Batista 2010), whose objective was to analyze incidents of the visualization processes supported with ICT environments, in the resolution of math problems, by students of the Primary basic education, being through the implementation of educational software that visualization plays a very important role in terms of student problem solving styles, according to the categorization of the proposed tasks.Downloads
