Authorship from the Publishing Institution

To ensure that the journal remains open to the national and international academic community, Sophia limits the publication of work authored by members of the publishing institution.

Limit: no more than 10% of the citable documents published in any twelve-month period may include one or more authors affiliated with Universidad La Gran Colombia. Citable documents are research, review and reflection articles; editorials and book reviews are not counted.

Review: manuscripts authored by members of the publishing institution undergo the same double-blind peer review, with reviewers external to Universidad La Gran Colombia. If any of the authors is a member of the editorial team, the manuscript is handled without their involvement, in accordance with the conflicts of interest policy.

Monitoring: the journal reviews this indicator every year. Between 2021 and October 2026, 3.5% of the citable documents published were authored by members of the publishing institution.
